Justin Kirschner, CEP, PSP


Justin is a highly experienced construction professional with more than twenty-five years of industry expertise. Throughout his career, he has gained valuable knowledge and skills in various roles, including business owner, general contractor, construction manager, engineer, subcontractor, owner’s representative, and consultant.

His diverse project portfolio encompasses a wide range of sectors, such as water and sewer treatment facilities, pipelines, airports, bridges, highways, railways, high-rise buildings, and government facilities.

Justin’s exceptional reputation in the construction industry can be attributed to his unwavering loyalty and his ability to cultivate strong client relationships.

Justin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech. He further pursued graduate studies in Construction Management at UNLV to enhance his knowledge in the field.

Additionally, Justin has obtained industry certifications in construction management (CCM), planning and scheduling (PSP), and estimating (CEP). These certifications reflect his commitment to professional development and his dedication to delivering high-quality results.

Currently, Justin serves as the manager at Kirschner Contractors, where he continues to contribute his expertise and leadership to the company’s success.


Calvin Gidlof, CCP


Chief Estimator, Principle Scheduler, Risk Manager. CCP P Eng (Alberta).

Results-driven Chief Estimator/ Lead Scheduler/ Risk Manager/ Project Manager at Parsons with 42 years of experience in the construction, oil and gas, rail, aviation, tunnel, bridge/highway, municipal utility, water and wastewater, public infrastructure, and government/defense sectors.


Vinson Hiraoka, CCP, AIA


Vinson is a Senior Estimator with J. Uno & Associates, Inc. and has been with the company since 2016. Prior to this, he was a Senior Architect with INK Architects. With over 20 years of industry experience, he has worked in both the cost estimating and architecture fields and brings a wide range of project experience.

Vinson holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Hawaii, is a licensed architect in the State of Hawaii, and a Certified Cost Professional through AACE International.


Scott Arend


Scott is a Project Engineer/Scheduler at Kirschner Contractors and brings over 20 years of experience working in the engineering and construction industries. He has supported oil & gas and mining projects in remote parts of Alaska in his former position as a field engineer. His role was to assist superintendents with writing RFI’s, resolving technical conflicts, ensuring specification compliance, and material procurement.

He has recently joined the Kirschner team, where he seeks to develop skills in scheduling and other project controls tasks.


David Ladines


David is an Associate Director at Cumming Management Group, Inc. CMGI is one of the largest cost consultancy firms in the country. With over 20 years of industry experience, he has worked on projects in many different sectors. Most notably Naval Weapons Station China Lake – Earthquake Repairs, Oahu Community Correctional Center, JBPHH Dry Dock, VA Portland Hospital, VA West Haven Hospital and Consolidated Car Rental Centers (Various Hawaii and US Locations).

David is involved with producing cost estimates, contractor peer reviews, dispute and resolution and providing management overview for large companies like Kaiser Permanente and GSA.


Brett Katayama


Brett Katayama is the Chief Estimator at J. Uno & Associates, where he plays a vital role in overseeing and managing the Cost Department. With a wealth of experience, he has successfully delivered more than 2,000 cost submittals for projects spanning across Hawaii, Japan, and various locations throughout the Pacific region.

Brett takes charge of coordinating proprietary databases, templates, and tools, ensuring streamlined operations and efficient cost estimation processes.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, providing a strong educational foundation to complement his professional expertise.


Christopher Baze


Chris has been working at Hawaiian Dredging Company (HDCC) since 2009. He has served has HDCC’s BIM Manager since 2011 and has been actively using and managing software/hardware from companies including Autodesk, Trimble and Leica Geosystems. Chris has worked on projects including Aulani, Ala Moana Ewa Expansion, and Maui Bay Villas. He has been in Hawaii since 2007 when he graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Architecture degree.
