AACE Hawaii Section 

The AACE Hawaii Section is a Hawaii-based chapter of AACE International. The Hawaii Section was reinstated in September 2013 and membership has grown to 33 members. We host lunch & learn seminars, construction site visits, and informal meet & greet pau hana, and we actively volunteer in our community. Christopher Baze

President

Chris has been working at Hawaiian Dredging Company (HDCC) since 2009. He has served has HDCC’s BIM Manager since 2011 and has been actively using and managing software/hardware from companies including Autodesk, Trimble and Leica Geosystems. Chris has worked on projects including Aulani, Ala Moana Ewa Expansion, and Maui Bay Villas. He has been in Hawaii since 2007 when he graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Architecture degree.

Mario C. Flores

Mario is a Senior Scheduler at Jacobs and has been working for the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) program as a Project Controls Scheduler since moving to Hawaii in March 2020. Prior to working on HART, he had 17 years experience supporting the engineering and construction industry as part of the Oracle Primavera business unit where he delivered training and implementations of Primavera P6 scheduling application. In his last role there, he developed system integrations and scheduling processes at a large oil and gas firm in Houston, TX.

Vinson Hiraoka, CCP, AIA

Vinson is a Senior Estimator and Technical Director with J. Uno and Associates, Inc. and has been with the company since 2016. Prior to this, he was a Senior Architect with INK Architects. With over 20 years of industry experience, he has worked in both the cost estimating and architecture fields and brings a wide range of project experience. Vinson holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Hawaii, is a licensed architect in the State of Hawaii, and a Certified Cost Professional through AACE International.

Jeanette Roberts

Jeanette is a Contract Manager at Hawaiian Electric Company, Inc., Interconnection Services Division, and has been a member of AACE Hawaii Section since 2012. Jeanette’s current project focus is geared toward managing system impact studies to interconnect utility-scale renewable energy projects. Jeanette looks forward to serving as Treasurer to manage the financial affairs for AACE Hawaii Section. She is interested in advancing her cost engineering and scheduling skills through AACE Hawaii Section events and cross-trains in project management to maintain her certification in Project Management.

Yong is a Senior Cost Manager and integral member of the Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) Cost Consultancy team in Honolulu. As a trusted advisor to clients in Hawaii and the Pacific, Yong is skilled in preparing detailed cost estimates for all building types, providing cost options and cost strategies, as well as change order review, valuations of work in progress and bid analysis. His technical abilities and advanced knowledge of total cost management are demonstrated by his accreditation as a Certified Cost Profession (CCP). Yong holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and has been a member of AACE since 2013.

Will is a Senior Scheduler at Encore Group LLC. He has built a diverse profile of experience in the management of construction projects ranging from $1 million to $1 billion. These construction projects fall into the following sectors: heavy civil, infrastructure, airport construction, rapid transit, hotel/casino and commercial. Having worked on more than 150 projects, Will understands critical path management in all areas of construction. He is well versed in the procurement and bidding phase, as well as the successful execution of the project plan, closeout and dispute resolution. He also has an in-depth understanding of how to construct cost and schedule impact analyses to use as litigation support.
