We are thrilled to announce we are planning our first live, IN PERSON event in nearly two years! We felt the time was right to schedule an event together again and it will be for a great cause as well.
This April, in support of Earth Day 2022, we will be hosting a community service AACE Hawaii Volunteer Event: working with the non-profit organization Mālama Maunalua to help clean the bay of invasive algae. For those not familiar with Mālama Maunalua check out their official website or Twitter. Here is their mission statement:
Mission Statement: To restore and conserve Maunalua Bay through community kuleana (responsibility).
Mālama Maunalua is committed to restoring the health of Maunalua Bay through habitat restoration, science and planning, and education and outreach. Restoring Maunalua Bay takes a community that understands the Bay is in trouble, believes the Bay is worth saving, and has hope that the decline can be reversed. Our work is driven by these community members who help improve the quality of Maunalua Bay.

Saturday morning, 23 April 2022 (Earth Day weekend!)
9:00am to 12:00pm
EVENT DETAILS
Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, clothes that can get wet, water shoes, towel and gloves.
We are asking that volunteers try to bring their own footwear and gloves due to COVID-19 (Mālama Maunalua does provide water shoes and gloves, but in limited quantities and only in adult sizes! 5-13 and S-XL)
Parking can be found along Summer St
Event duration is 3 hours (9am-12pm)
Purpose is to remove algae from the bay

Each participant will be required to complete the Mālama Maunalua waiver form here.
Parental consent must be given for all minors.
**For anyone interested, please let us know so we can get an idea of headcount!** Bring your family & friends too! You aren’t locked in if you do reply, we’d just like a sense of how many people may be joining us. We will have more details/reminders as we get closer to the event.
